A Dover man was arrested twice this past weekend by Smyrna Police, both times for drug offenses. On Friday 3/24/17 at approx. 2219 hrs an SPD patrol officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on E Glenwood Ave for a registration violation. While speaking with the driver, William Walker, 71 of Dover and passenger Jennifer Hall, 35 of Smyrna both were observed to be in possession of suspected narcotic pills in plain view. Both subjects were detained and a motor vehicle search revealed several Schedule 2 and Schedule 4 narcotic pills as well as associated drug paraphernalia. Ms. Hall was also found to be locally wanted on a court capias. Both Mr. Walker and Ms. Hall were transported to SPD where Mr. Walker was charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance w/o a Prescription. Ms. Hall was charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance w/o a Prescription and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The pair were arraigned on their charges via video court (JP #7) and released on un-secured bond.
It was later discovered during a post-shift vehicle inspection that Mr. Walker had discarded/hidden more controlled prescription drugs inside of a patrol vehicle while he was detained on Friday evening. Review of in-car cameras confirmed that Mr. Walker was responsible for these found controlled substances. On Sunday 3/26/17 Mr. Walker turned himself into SPD officers where he was additionally charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence and another count of Possession of a controlled substance w/o a prescription. Mr. Walker was again processed and arraigned via video court in JP #7 where he was released on $600.00 unsecured bond pending a future court hearing.
